In conjunction with Plastic, The New Coal
Plastic, the New Coal welcomes the Invisible Rivers multi-sensory experiential story process and spring offering to the Descendants Project education and cultural district in Saint John Parish to be in dialogue with the exhibition.
Invisible Rivers site-specific spring story sharing will reflect on the origin of plastic and the lower river's industrial corridor and the complicated planetary conditions origins and facilitate a workshop, using the Story Circle Process developed by the Free Southern Theatre for artists and audience to engage in and discuss questions, reflections and truths around Plastic, the New Coal as an exhibition and as a global condition.
Invisible Rivers is a unique collaboration between Louisiana-based Mondo Bizarro and the Land Memory Bank combining art and education to involve citizen audiences in experiential community. Part procession, part performance-art talk, Invisible Rivers is a project that uses music, theater, and boatbuilding to bring their experiences from the rapidly changing coastal region of southeast Louisiana.
