Join us on April 1st at 4pm for Angel Makers: Collective Printmaking Workshop, led by Brazilian visual artist and researcher Leírner Hoki. In this hands-on workshop, participants are invited to create their own printmaking works using stamps from the artist’s personal collection. These stamps originate from Angel Makers, a series currently on view, and are appropriations developed through Hoki’s ongoing research on abortion, witch hunts, and female autonomy.
By activating these images collectively, the workshop proposes printmaking as a shared and political gesture, transforming historical symbols of control, persecution, and resistance into tools for communal creation. The activity invites participants to reflect on how images circulate, are re-signified, and can be reclaimed through collective practice.
Leírner Hoki (Cuiabá, 1992) is a lesbian/queer artist, writer, and PhD candidate at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, researching lesbian and non-normative communities.
