Artists from Afghanistan and the diaspora speak on creativity and survival under repression, Surviving Shadows is an apexart exhibition Inside, Outside, and In Between: Afghan Artists on Art Under Suppression brings together Afghan artists who remain in Afghanistan and those who have been forced into exile in Europe. Through conversation and shared experiences, the artists reflect on how ongoing political repression, censorship, and displacement have reshaped artistic practice, cultural production, and everyday life. The event explores how art continues to function as a form of resistance, testimony, and survival—across borders and under conditions of suppression—while highlighting the resilience and urgency of Afghan artistic voices today.
