Born in Kharkiv, Ukraine, Pavlo Grazhdanskij, artist and poet, lives and works in St. Petersburg, Russia. Pavlo works within the poetical dimension of reality using language of operative systems: text, photography, video, sound. His research explores dead-ends and turns in logics at the intersection of mediums (text, photography, video); the issues of cyclic recurrence, tradition, rituality, reference, fatum, dominance, authoritarianism, insuperability, worship, motion, fetish, attraction and other representations of the tactics of social survival including alternative and marginal histories. His current work- based on found film footage from 2013 to now- unfolds cultural codes, narratives and visual solutions of official representation of Ukranian militants. He is the Co-founder of Kropotkina 11 and Founder and editor of the Russian-Ukranian journal of voluntary documentary writing Travmpunkt [Emergency Room].
