Maria-Kristiina Soomre (1978, Tallinn, Estonia) is Curator of Contemporary Art at Kumu Art Museum (Art Museum of Estonia, Tallinn). She has been active as an art critic and columnist in the Estonian cultural press, collaborating mainly with local cultural weekly Sirp, magazines kunst.ee and Estonian Art, as well as the National Television Station (2005 art program "Aku" - producer, editor and co-author). In addition to curating exhibitions at Kumu, Maria-Kristiina Soomre also organizes electronic music festival "Kumu ÖÖ", seminars and conferences; she is also lecturer at The Estonian Academy of Arts.
Her curatorial projects at the Kumu Art Museum include both original exhibitions of Estonian and international contemporary art, as well as producing and administrating collaborative projects with different curators and institutions around the world.
