Erzen Shkololli (born 1976, Pejë, Kosovë) is an artist, curator and co-founder of EXIT Contemporary Art Institute in Pejë. His art practice utilizes local rituals and folklore to draw attention to socio-political situations. He has exhibited internationally, with solo exhibitions in the Czech Republic (2005) and Lucca, Italy (2001), as well as numerous group shows and biennials, including INTERRUPTED HISTORIES at the Museum of Modern Art in Ljubljana (2006); In the Gorges of the Balkans at Kunsthalle Fridericianum, Kassel, Germany—organized by past apexart Resident, Natasa Petresin (2003); and New Video, New Europe at The Kitchen in New York. His work has also appeared in museums of contemporary art like the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and the Tate Modern of London. In 2001 he was awarded the Premio Michetti Prize of the Fondazion Michetti di Francavilla al Mare, Italy.
