Olivia Ciummo is a filmmaker, artist, curator, and educator based in Brooklyn, New York. Much of her work develops out of exploration with the camera. Making records of the world, she creates narrative-like structures that investigate mediation and autobiographical events. Her work has exhibited at venues including The Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago, Illinois; The Museum of Modern Art in New York, New York; the Pittsburgh Biennial in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; the Chicago Underground Film Festival in Chicago, Illinois; Media City Film Festival in Windsor, Ontario; the Crossroads Film Festival in San Francisco, California; The Paris Festival of Different and Experimental Cinemas in Paris, France; Mass Art Film Society in Boston, Massachusetts; as well as film festivals, galleries, and cultural centers nationally and abroad. She holds an MFA in Moving Image from the University of Illinois at Chicago, 2010. Her moving image work is distributed by The Collectif Jeune Cinéma in Paris, France, and she is the creator of Cuts and Such, a traveling video show.
