Public Program - NYC
Video Editing 101

Friday, December 1, 2017, 7:00 - 8:30 pm
291 Church Street, NYC

Learn how to transform video footage into a coherent and interesting video in this evening workshop run by Chris Mariano.

This event is free and open to the public. RSVP required.

Everyone knows how to record a video on their phone, but few understand the principles, techniques, and tools of video editing. In this workshop, participants will download raw footage and learn the basics of video editing through using Avid’s Media Composer video editing software. This workshop requires that participants bring a laptop and download a trial software package in advance.

Chris Mariano is the co-author and co-creator of the children's book and board game Claire Lost Her Bear at the World’s Fair, due out in April 2018 from Polar Press. He is also a lead pop culture archaeologist for the website wonderweird.net and a workshop presenter for Kids Love Comics, an organization that aims to help kids (and parents) create using their imaginations. When he is not busy running workshops or digging up pop-culture past, he's watching an episode of Saved by the Bell, playing music, or just using his imagination.
