Public Program - NYC
Peer2Pickle Dinner Event #1

Wednesday, January 16, 2019, 7:00 - 9:00 pm
291 Church Street, NYC

The Peer2Pickle Dinner Event is a multi-course gastronomical happening at apexart. The core ingredients of the dinner have been altered through natural processes such as dehydration, fermentation, tincturing and brining in order to extend their lifespan. Each dish shared around the table is playfully and experimentally crafted, with careful attention to the textures, flavors and colors of each plate. This event is free and open to the public. Sign up to reserve your seat.

A multi-sensory experience, the Peer2Pickle Dinner Event activates and celebrates the sustainable processes that create each unique meal. Justin Tyler Tate, exhibition organizer and artist, will guide participants through a dining experience that is not simply about food but also about the experimental production and environmental impact of the meal.

Justin Tyler Tate was born in Canada, grew up in America and now works internationally. Receiving his BFA from NSCAD University and a MFA from Helsinki Academy of Fine Arts, his work combines elements of installation, media, performance as well as social art. In the past decade as a professional artist, he has exhibited more than 75 projects, in +20 countries, on 4 continents. His practice draws knowledge from various fields and marries them in order to find solutions to contemporary problems. Architecture, carpentry, botany, cooking, electronics, chemistry, and more are all merged under a singular umbrella of artistic production.
