Puerto Rican Kite Making Workshop with Chemi Rosado-Seijo (Cancelled)

Saturday, May 5, 2018, 3:00 - 6:00 pm
291 Church Street, NYC

Join students from across New York City for this rare opportunity to learn the popular craft of Puerto Rican paper kite making from artist Chemi Rosado-Seijo. Bring your personal expression to the project as you work with Chemi and other participants and then go out into the Tribeca neighborhood to take your kite out for a test flight. Selected kites will be added to apexart’s current exhibition Drawn Up (April 28-May 26).

This event has unfortunately been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

Chemi Rosado-Seijo (b. 1973) lives and works in San Juan, Puerto Rico. His practice focuses on the intersections of art with community development and engagement, and includes a long-term project with the community of El Cerro, P.R. Rosado has participated in exhibitions and biennials around the world, in Prague, Havana, and New York, among others, and most recently in the 2017 Whitney Biennial.
