Bryndís Björnsdóttir, Act of Representation, 2017 (performance still)
Act of Representation draws into intimacy a solidarity march with Kurdistan and Abdullah Öcalan’s freedom in Berlin (February 2017) by questioning how urgencies and representational power translate and transmit through a body from the streets into the space of exhibition.

Bryndís Björnsdóttir is an artist and writer living in Berlin. In her performances, interventions, and writings, she meets, feels, and deals with situations through bodily utterances. Since 2010 Björnsdóttir has been involved in establishing an international research project at a former NATO base in Iceland called the Occupational Hazard project. From 2009–2014 Björnsdóttir co-managed an artist bookstore, publishing house, and project space in Iceland called Útúrdúr. Björnsdóttir is currently a postgraduate student of Raumstrategien (spatial strategies) at the Weissensee School of Art, Berlin.

This event is free and open to the public.
