Kelly Warman was born in London, UK in 1979 and she currently lives and works in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Before completing her MFA at the Piet Zwart Institute, Rotterdam, Warman graduated with a BA from Dartington College of Arts, UK. Warman's work investigates the idea of a commodity-person through staged performance and cinematic video works. She has shown her work in the Vienna Biennale (2008); Boijmans Museum, Rotterdam (2008); Stadische Kunsthalle Lothringer13, Munich (2007); The Berlin Art Fair (2006); TENT, Rotterdam (2006); and Nehru Centre, London (2005). She won the Gemeente Rotterdam Kunst & Cultuur Stipendium (2008) and was a recipient of the Huygens Scholarship (2006). Publications include OMSKBOOK (OmskBook Publishing, 2007) and Black Friday: Exercises in Hermetics (Revolver Books Publishing, 2006). She has also curated exhibitions including The Rise Now Fall at Dek-22 project space, Rotterdam (2009); Le Societas! at De Veemvloer, Amsterdam (2008); and DADADA at Bravo!, Rotterdam (2007). |
