In conjunction with the exhibition SCARYOKE!!! organized by Dan Kois. SCARYOKE!!! Fantasy Draft Wednesday, December 4: 8 pm apexart, 291 Church St, NYC We're bringing some of NYC's top culture critics together to take the SCARYOKE!!! Challenge but we're switching up the rules; we're giving each singer a chance to pick their song. One by one, we'll draw names from a hat, and each performer will sing the song of his or her choice. But once a song's been sung, it's off the board -- so other performers can't choose it anymore. Sure, it's easy to pick when there are 15 songs to choose from. But what if there are only 10? 5? 3? Exhibition organizer Dan Kois will fall on his SCARYOKE!!! sword and will automatically take the 15th pick. You don't want to miss this. The lineup: Aisha Harris is a culture blogger for Slate. Anna Holmes is the founder of Jezebel. Julie Klausner is a comedy writer and podcaster. Dan Kois is the brain behind SCARYOKE!!!. Lizzie O'Leary is host and correspondent on Marketplace. Matthew Perpetua is the music editor for BuzzFeed. Mac Rogers is a playwright and performer. Rob Sheffield is a columnist for Rolling Stone. Choire Sicha is the co-founder of The Awl. Rachel Sklar is a writer & co-founder of TheLi.st. Adam Sternbergh is the culture editor at New York Times Magazine. Dana Stevens is Slate's movie critic. Nitasha Tiku is a Senior Writer at Gawker. Charlie Todd founded NYC's prank collective Improv Everywhere. Lindsey Weber is the Associate Editor at New York Magazine's Vulture.
