Eduardo Verderame (born 1971) is a visual artist and curator based in São Paulo, Brazil. He graduated with an MFA at São Paulo University in 1996. His work deals with subjects like imaginary universes, utopias, the disenchanting representation and mockery of violence, and the decadence of cultural codes. Since 2001 he has been curating exhibitions and events with a focus on urban spaces as the stage for plastic intervention. Verderame is the co-founder and member of two art collectives, EIA (Experiência Imersiva Ambiental) and Esqueleto Coletivo; both groups organize festivals and contemporary art events in the streets of São Paulo, promoting ecology, human rights and the free use of public space. |
