Elizabeth Velazquez creates mixed media/ sculptural works, installations, and rituals. Velazquez currently lives in Queens, New York and is one of the founding members of SEQAA (Southeast Queens Artists Alliance). In 2017, Velazquez participated in the Southeast Queens Biennial for which she received a commission for new work from No Longer Empty Curatorial Lab. Velazquez was awarded a mini-grant for new work included in Reimagine End of Life. She holds a residency at Cigar Factory located in Long Island City, Queens.
