Daniel Carpinteyro published his first short story, "Pet Shop," 1990, at age 13, in the independent Tijuana Fanzine, Agit-Prop. Since then, he has gone on to publish numerous works of both poetry and fiction including his short story "Ilustres Perdedores" (Illustrious Losers) in the anthology Homenaje a Bukowski (Homage to Bukowski) and Neuralgica, a critically acclaimed collection of poetry. In 2013, he published a short-prose selection entitled Bitterness Syllogisms from Area 4, for which a musical adaptation was produced at the Capilla del Arte (Art Chapel), in Puebla.

In addition to his literary practice, Carpinteyro has recorded an album of ambient music inspired by the poems of Neuralgica.

Carpinteyro studied Linguistics and Hispanic Literature at Puebla’s State University (BUAP), and is currently pursuing a degree in English. For almost a decade, he taught high school Literature and Extended Essay in the American School of Puebla, where he also coordinated a Poetry Slam project. He is also the editor of Profectica.com, the website for Pueblo’s largest cultural center and a monthly contributor the magazine, Chido BUAP.
