Nicholas Calvin M. is a photographer and filmmaker based at Nafasi Art Space, a contemporary art center in the city of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Calvin studied heritage management at the University of Dar es Salaam where he began to explore issues pertaining to local history and culture. In his work, he is interested in issues of identity, representation, and the power of narrative - especially historical narrative in connecting us to ideas, places and people and informing our perspective of the world.
