German-Iranian filmmaker Azin Feizabadi performs a film reading that stages his forthcoming feature length fiction/documentary film as an intimate lecture-performance.

This event is free and open to the public.
German-Iranian filmmaker Azin Feizabadi will perform a film reading that stages his forthcoming film as an intimate lecture-performance. In this performance, Azin will read from the script of UCHRONIA while screening selected scenes, sounds, and passages from the film. A contemporary interpretation of the ancient middle eastern love saga of Layla & Majnun, UCHRONIA depicts two disembodied, Dark Matter aliens emigrating from the furthest parts of the universe to planet 52°N,13°E: Berlin in Germany. Earth offers the opportunity to incarnate into human bodies, dangling the promise of finally realizing the union they have traveled so far to achieve. But the bodies they have chosen are freighted with their own physical, social, and philosophical baggage, deferring the consummation of their love and entangling them in a series of terrestrial problems they struggle to understand. UCHRONIA is a feature length fiction/documentary film, which went into production in 2015 and has a release date set for January 2018.

This program is presented in partnership with Microscope Gallery in conjunction with the exhibition Fellow Travelers at apexart.
