Just like the movies?

still from Woody Allen's Manhattan, 1979

Current apexart resident, video artist Donghyun Min from South Korea, will talk about how his first visit to New York has changed his perception of the city that he had previously come to know through movies.

Mr. Min will use clips from his favorite New York films to illustrate how they informed his expectations of New York, and what his real-life experiences were upon arrival. Countless travelers have fostered intimate relationships with the Big Apple through its depiction in movies, giving them a sense of intimacy before they see the city first-hand, but what is the gap between fact and fiction?

Join us for a guided tour of New York as seen on the big screen.
