Roy Samaha, an apexart resident, is a Lebanese video artist and photographer living and working in Beirut. From 1998 until 2008 he worked in the News and Broadcasting TV industry. Currently, he teaches a seminar on video practices at USJ film school, the AUB Fine Arts Department and The Lebanese University of Fine Arts. He received his Masters degree in film studies at USEK, Lebanon 1998-2006 and has exhibited his videos in numerous film and contemporary art festivals.
Honza Zamojski, a resident at Triangle Arts, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan in 2008 (Graphic Design Faculty). Visual artist, book editor and designer, curator. He is also the co-founder of the Starter Association and Starter Gallery, and founder of MORAVA publishing house. He holds a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage “Young Poland” (2008), City of Poznan artistic scholarship (2008) and VARP (Visegrad Artist Residency Program, 2009).
Tania Candiani, an ISCP resident, was born in Mexico City in 1974 and is spending four months in New York. Her work is a reflection about contemporary aesthetic patterns. At the moment, Candiani is developing a project of urban interventions where textiles, architectural design and the experiences of the people whom she works with become the detonators of the artwork.
Giles Lyon, an Invisible Dog resident,is a RISD graduate who moved to Houston upon the receipt of a fellowship from the Houston Museum of Art / Glassell school. He became an active member of the Houston art scene, remaining there until 1996 when he moved to New York where he still lives and works as a full time painter. Lyon moved into his current studio with The Invisible Dog last summer. About his work Lyon says, "I have been struggling in recent years to integrate my deep concerns regarding social justice and environmental justice with my art practice... that is still a work in progress."
