Mark Feary will contextualize the exhibition through a discussion of the background to and framework of the project and the exhibited works. Emerging out of a number of visits to South Korea and in particular the Demilitarized Zone he will elaborate upon the problematics of how the DPRK represents itself and how it is represented, paying particular attention to the recent death of Kim Jong-il and what this may entail for the future direction of this isolationist state. |
