Come Hear the Psychic Parrot Speak

In conjunction with: Change the Channel

hosted by Gary Fogelson and Michael Hutcherson

Change the Channel curators Gary Fogelson and Michael Hutcherson will host a screening followed by an informal Q+A. In addition to selected clips from their favorite WCVB-TV shows, they will show an episode of Park St. Under—a short-lived sitcom about a bar, which was later stolen and turned into Cheers by NBC—and Derek Lamb's Psychic Parrot, a short film about a parrot that predicts the apocalypse. Refreshments will be served.

Psychic Parrot (1975, 26 min.): An ordinary middle class suburban couple decides to live it up on the evening of the apocalypse, as predicted by a celebrity parrot on TV.

Park St. Under (1979, 33 min.): The inspiration for Cheers, Park St. Under was a short-lived sitcom about a bar beneath the Park Street MBTA station. This episode involves a Halloween party with the characters impersonating favorite Boston personalities.
